This happens often when asserting IP against online infringers.
Before we send out a cease-and-desist letter we preserve the corresponding online evidence. Often this is done with screen shots.
The problem is then that if the infringer changes his webpage after receiving the cease-and-desist letter, we cannot easily go back to its original version and secure more evidence for the earlier infringement.
There is a convenient program that allows you to copy the infringer's entire webpage to your local computer. It is called HTTrack. It is available here http://www.httrack.com/. It is free.
All that is needed is that you install the HTTrack program on your local computer. You launch it, set a project name and a download path. Then you enter the URL of the infringing webpage and press "Finish".
Then you can see the program working.
After the download is finished you can access the webpage copy by clicking the file index.html in the download location on your computer's hard disk.
