Strong experience as IP professional combined with R&D, innovation and executive leadership creates a unique blend of qualifications aimed to maximize patent value for you. I have experience working with individual inventors, physicians, small start-up companies and medium size companies in creating and executing cost-effective IP strategy. I have also completed IP assessments so as to minimize ongoing costs without compromising patent coverage.
I also specialize on being a second-tier patent professional to complement a large IP law firm for small companies that cannot afford to patent everything with a first-tier law firm. Using my less expensive service and retaining a large law firm they get a broad patent portfolio at a fraction of the cost.
Work history
1990-2009 CTO at Datascope Corp - $400MM public company with a diverse product lines in medical devices, including heart assist devices (intra-aortic balloon pumps and catheters), patient monitors, vascular sealing devices, vascular grafts, stents, etc.
2009-present - independent consultant working with a number of small companies and individual inventors in developing their IP portfolios
