Innovety, Senior Innovation Consultant

- Developed a roadmap for the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology for improving the technology commercialization through Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer and Spin-offs

- Conducted market research, gap analysis, and feasibility study for Mercy Corps Egypt for establishing a legal incubator in Egypt

- Developed & delivered training programs for entrepreneurs in Innovation Management, Intellectual Assets Management, Intellectual Property strategies, Business Models, Market Research, Lean Startup, and pitching. This was in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology and the Ministry of Scientific Research

- Involved in the initial planning for a new Innovation Program that will be developed under ITIDA

- Prepared and conducted training programs for the Technology Transfer Offices funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) in different Universities and Research Institutions

- Developed an Innovation Strategy for research valorization for the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries

- Developed funding Proposals for Egyptian and EU funds such as the RDI and TIEC

- Delivered capacity building programs in Innovation Management, Intellectual Properties, and Technology Commercialization in collaboration with the European Business and Innovation Centers Network & the European Patent Office

- Consulted Misr El Kheir in developing their funding and technology commercialization cycle including all required forms & agreements, NDAs, Evaluation forms, Presentation Templates, Progress Reports, Code of Ethics, Invention Disclosures, and Technology Licensing Agreements

- Conducted Technology Assessment for projects in different scientific areas (e.g. water desalination & wearable technologies) to evaluate their novelty, inventiveness, and patentability

- Consulted entrepreneurs, researchers, and faculty members in issues related to prior art search, IP protection, and go-to-market strategies.


Zaagel, Founder & CEO

Zaagel is a crowdshipping platform that enables people to order products from any place in the wold and ask travelers to bring those products in return of monetary rewards. My role involves business model generation, market research, feasibility study, business development, product development, operations management, hiring skilled personnel, and raising fund.


Yadget, Founder & CEO

Yadget is a social mobile app for tagging real-life objects and geographic places and attaching digital content to them. I pitched Yadget in Silicon Valley, Boston, and New York looking for acceleration and investment.


STDF, Technology Commercialization Specialist

- Setting the vision, mission, and strategy of STDF innovation department.

- Filing 17 patent applications and drafting patent claims for one of them.

- Doing preliminary prior art search for inventions using patent databases.

- Recommending a new IP ownership and revenue sharing policy for STDF management.

- Creating STDF disclosure & commercialization forms and employees confidentiality agreements.

- Reviewing STDF international agreements and recommending changes to the IP policy.

- Conducting Gap Analysis for the Innovation Ecosystem in Egypt and researching the innovation actors. I ended up with a published report explaining the gaps in the innovation Ecosystem, the role of STDF in bridging those gap, and possible collaboration between innovation entities. This is report is currently used as a reference by many stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.

Fi-Me, Founder and Managing Director

I founded Fi-Me in December 2007 as a mobile content and advertising services provider. We developed a network of Bluetooth marketing hotspots that broadcasts free content to end users with our clients Ads integrated inside this content. Fi-Me started in August 2008 after receiving an initial seed investment of around 360 thousands US dollars. The project was terminated due to shortage in cash flow. During that period I achieved the following:

* Doing feasibility study for the idea, seeking and presenting the idea to business angels, and securing the initial seed fund.

* Undergoing all the startup procedures and hiring the company directors.

* Managing the IT team to plan and develop Bluetooth marketing, content, and advertisements management systems.

* Managing the creative team to create new mobile content creation tools according to accepted mobile standards.

* Getting end users involved by utilizing different online channels including existing social media tools.

* Establishing relationships with media agencies, content providers, suppliers, and service providers.

* Monitoring the financial performance of the company to assure that the operations remain within the decided budget.

* Reporting to the board of directors and making necessary recommendations.


Bird ICT, Business Development Manager

I did three months of consultation in Bird ICT™ during which I achieved the following:

* Introducing some changes to their existing business models and establishing contacts with key partners.

* Drafting licensing proposals for mobile operators, web portals, and mobile handset manufacturers.


Center for Intellectual Property studies (CIP), Masters Student

The masters’ degree was a role-play based on simulations and business cases. I’m currently finishing my thesis after I stopped working on it for some time. The following are some of the achieved tasks:

- Drafting patent claims in consultation with a patent lawyer from Ericsson.

- Providing consultation for a scientist in Sahlgrenska university hospital regarding the commercialization and protection of her innovation. This consultation included different exercises starting from intellectual assets assessment to capitalizing on her networking assets and technical knowledge.

- Recommending using copyrights, open source, and licensing agreements to commercialize a new file format.

- Using IPRs, contracts, business relations, license agreements, and business plans as tools for new business creation.


Bayt.com, Web Application Developer

* Developing different web applications applying different technologies and techniques.

* Migrating the company’s management systems to an open source architecture.

* Meeting with clients to discuss their applications requirements..

* Conducting technical and functional documentation for the company’s web application and provided web services.
