Mr. Gureff's practice primarily relates to intellectual property and transactional matters. Mr. Gureff provides strategic counseling to assist clients in identifying, protecting, managing and exploiting key intellectual property assets and represents clients in a wide variety of trademark, copyright and patent enforcement and defense matters.
Mr. Gureff represents numerous technology companies in connection with structuring and negotiating a wide array of complex commercial transactions and agreements, including vendor customer agreements, VAR/OEM/distributor agreements, master services agreements, software as a service agreements, subcontract agreements, alliance partner agreements, offshore IT and development outsourcing agreements, hosting agreements and data access agreements with Fortune 500 companies such as Yahoo! Inc., Google Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Oracle Corporation, PayPal, Conduit Corporation, Verizon Communications Inc., ExxonMobil Global Services Company, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.
Mr. Gureff also negotiates and structures strategic mergers, acquisitions, and financing to enhance the development and commercialization of intellectual property.
In addition, Mr. Gureff has extensive experience representing companies in connection with various USPTO proceedings, including drafting and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, and trademark oppositions and appeals.
Mr. Gureff's recent litigation experience includes representing an anti-virus software developer in copyright infringement litigation, a defendant in patent infringement litigation, and online publishing company in copyright and trademark infringement litigation. Mr. Gureff also represent companies in the domain name dispute resolution proceedings (UDRPs) on both complainant and respondent sides.
