About
I help businesses protect their valuable brands in Australia, Asia and Worldwide.
I work exclusively in the field of brand protection, covering the full range of trade mark services, from local and international trade mark search, filing and prosecution through to disputes, trade mark oppositions, cancellation actions, litigation and enforcement.
I've had great success in prosecuting 'hard to register' marks and have a strong track record obtaining registration of wholly descriptive word marks (examples: PHARMACY ONLINE, BANNERSHOP, PET EXPRESS) and overcoming objections based on conflicting marks.
I've been featured in various online and print publications including Intellectual Property Magazine, SmartCompany, Commerce & Industry, Nett and IP Australia's 'Your Business Edge' magazine. I'm a regular speaker on trade marks and brand protection matters and have been presenting an annual lecture to RMIT business and entrepreneurship students for a number of years.
I'm currently a member of the INTA Emerging Issues Committee and Disparaging Trademarks Subcommittee and am also a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and AIPPI.
Away from the office, I spend time chasing (or being chased) my three young children, dabbling in web projects and playing the happiest instrument in the world.
