Patent Pending Disclosed are: a neutron beam detector which comprises a material having low deliquescent properties and can discriminate between a neutron beam and a beam; a neutron beam detection scintillator; and a method for discriminating between a neutron beam and a beam. Specifically disclosed are: a neutron beam detection scintillator for use in the discrimination between a neutron beam and a beam based on the difference in waveforms of light detection signals, and which comprises Ce-containing LiCaAlF6 single crystals.
