Shape memory alloy

Patent Pending PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape memory alloy which is composed of a Pd-based alloy having high corrosion resistance, high biocompatibility and high X-ray contrast property and causing martensitic transformation. ; SOLUTION: The shape memory alloy has a composition consisting of, by atom, 15 to 50% In, 5 to 45%, in total, of at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mn, Fe, Cu, Ag and Au, and the balance Pd with inevitable impurities and also has a single-phase structure composed of a bcc ordered structure. Moreover, 0.001 to 30 atomic% of Zn can be incorporated into the above composition.
