Patent Granted PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the frequency characteristics of an article 210 to be measured, which can be easily read, by transmitting a terahertz wave. ; SOLUTION: The measuring instrument 300 is equipped with: a gap arranging structure 110 having a gap 112 surrounded by a conductor on one plane; an electromagnetic irradiation part 310 for irradiating the article 210 to be measured held on the plane of the gap arranging structure 110 with an electromagnetic wave; and an electromagnetic wave detection part 320 for measuring the electromagnetic wave projected toward the gap arranging structure 110 from the electromagnetic irradiation part 310 to be transmitted through the gap arranging structure 110.
