Patent Granted PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high hardness and high density cubic crystal boron nitride based sintered compact utilized for a cutting tool, a heat sink or the like. ; SOLUTION: Cubic crystal boron nitride powder with the average particle diameter of 0.5 to 6 [mu]m in 10 to 50 vol.% and [beta]-sialon powder with the average particle diameter of 0.1 to 1 [mu]m in 50 to 90 vol.% are mixed. The mixture is pressurized under the pressure of 80 to 120 MPa.
