Semiconductor detector block

Patent Granted PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor detector block, having a simple detection structure and a spatial resolution of up to 1 mm. ; SOLUTION: The semiconductor detector block contains a plurality of semiconductor detectors, with each detector comprising a semiconductor plate having an electrical conduction resistant electrode formed on the front surface thereof and a conductive electrode formed on the back side and for two-dimensionally detecting the detection position of gamma rays within the semiconductor plate by the use of the ratio of electrical signals outputted from the four corners ABCD of the electrical conduction resistant electrode, the plurality of semiconductor detectors being stacked so that the detection position of gamma rays can be determined three-dimensionally. The positron emission tomography equipment contains at least two semiconductor detector blocks.
