Patent Granted PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve conventional problems in production of a polysubstituted cyclobutane compound and a polysubstituted cyclobutene compound that production of the compounds necessitates a special substrate and special reaction conditions which is not general and low in synthetic availability, and the conventional method had problems on safety of the catalysts to be used, and cost of reaction, serious problems on environmental pollution of the solvents and wastes. ; SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing the polysubstituted cyclobutane compounds with high stereoselectivity, that has low environmental load (ecologically advantageous) and is applicable to industrial manufacturing from the standpoint of operation, substrate generality, catalyst, solvent, and efficiency.
