SOLUTION: A triaryl subporphyrin compound expressed by general formula (2) is produced by using a compound expressed by general formula (1). In the formulas, R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>6</SP>are each independently hydrogen atom, an aromatic group optionally having substituents or a 0-20C non-aromatic substituent; R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>, and R<SP>5</SP>and R<SP>6</SP>may be bonded together to form a ring; Ar<SP>1</SP>to Ar<SP>3</SP>are each independently an aromatic group which may have substituents;
