Nitride-coating

Patent Granted PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating a substrate with a nitride such as titanium nitride. SOLUTION: This nitride-coating method comprises the steps of: immersing the substrate to be coated in a powder of a material having a nitride-forming capability, such as metallic titanium; placing the powder in an alternating electric field while irradiating it with a micro wave to make the powder of the material having the nitride-forming capability such as metallic titanium react with nitrogen in the atmosphere in a solid phase state, and be nitrided; and simultaneously coating the substrate with the nitride formed on the surface, such as titanium nitride.
