Patent Granted X-ray detectors are devices used to measure the flux, spatial distribution, spectrum or other properties of X-rays. Detector applications can be divided into two major categories; imaging and dose measurement. Imaging detectors for radiography were originally photographic plates and photographic film but are now mostly replaced by various digitizing methods such as image plates or flat panel detectors.
