Patent Granted The portable fishing pole holder is a device that allows a fishermen to securely and reliably place a fishing pole at the fishing hole. The fisherman can relax, perform other tasks, or fish another location while being able monitor the pole. The device can fit inside or be attached to a backpack while walking to a the river or lake. The device has a spiral anchor, a shaft, and a V shaped enclosure. A bridge spans the top of the V enclosure. One side of the bridge is attached to the V enclosure via a pivot and a spring. The other side has ridges or sandpaper surface. The fisherman simply walks to the fishing spot, places the spiral on the ground and twists the handle to securely anchor the device in the ground. The fisherman casts to the desired location, places the pole inside the enclosure, and closes the latch. The fishermen is then free to perform other tasks. Because the pole is held upright (unlike laying the pole on the ground or leaning it against a random object), the fisherman can see activity on the pole from a distance away. Therefore he can move about and monitor the pole for a catch. A single fisherman could reliably fish multiple spots. United States 7,827,729 and United States 8,381,428
