Is it acceptable to offer inventions that have patent pending?

Yes, if you are using "patent pending" correctly/legally - to use "patent pending" you must have a patent application on file, and once you have a patent application on file, you are effectively protected against someone else "stealing" your invention because since March, 2013, when the USPTO went to the "first to file" system, the first one to file a patent application for a particular invention is automatically the senior party and your patent application will effectively be prior art against later-filed applications for the same/similar inventions.
