All-round check against Intellectual Property trouble

質問

We are a game design startup based in Australia. Our strategy in terms of distribution and marketing is global and not limited to Australia. We are wondering: Is there such a thing like a comprehensive legal check that would determine any risks related to our intellectual property globally? It would be great if we could demonstrate any exposure (or lack thereof) in this regard to investors.

I assume that what you mean by risks related to your IP is 1) whether or not you infringe someone's patent in any country since your interest is global; and 2) whether your game design is patentable and therefore commercially viable.
Both answers should be fairly well determinable by means of patent searches done, for example, in Australia so as to uncover Australian patents as well as patents in other countries. Database searches of patent families can be done - you obviously need to get in contact with IP professionals who can conduct such searches.
