As part of our social media offering we would like to launch a simple platform where users can rate and share concerts and live shows they have visited or want to visit. There are messaging and commenting features, as well as integration with calendar and productivity apps. As part of the experience, users are supposed to be able to share videos they record on their smartphones when they are at a given concert. What is the IP situation regarding such shared recordings? Is there any issue in the first place? The videos would be not longer than 1-2 minutes and personalized, including a message from whomever is recording and sharing them. As the content is user-created anyway, could we as the platform provider have a legal issue?
