• Achievements: Took over technical management for legacy web site and managed completion and deployment of beta release of a student-populated social site for finding bargains. Improved mobile product deployment to work well for the beta release. Provided investors with technical evaluation of company and product to drive further action. Designed and implemented release control procedures and process. Put several cost-saving measures into place. Managed selection and integration of outsourced development. Produced use cases and product specifications for continuing product development based on experience from beta testing. Wrote four patent applications on the process, one of which has been granted. Coordinated with all external vendors, often when no convenient interface was defined.

Wrote patent which was granted as two patents (original and continuation). Designed architecture of the Automated Support Infrastructure product, and did most of the initial implementation. Integrated open-source components into the software. Designed and implemented processes for use of single source pool for multiple Windows and Unix platforms. Developed and incorporated device drivers for network traffic monitoring and filtering. Specified and helped implement server software on Linux platforms with PHP and MySQL. Did all database design for both client and server software. Did all performance analysis and improvement on both client and server software. Architected and implemented online commerce delivery system. Hired all of the engineering staff. Specified and set up software specification and development environment suitable for use by geographically distributed staff. Designed and implemented revision management and control system for both client and server software. Spearheaded effort to expand management team, finding and interviewing qualified candidates. • Achievements: Primary inventor of visual display technology that is the key for all modern music-based games like Guitar Hero and Dance Revolution. Co-invented the Virtual Guitar (guitar controller), VPick (guitar pick controller) and VStix (drum pad controller) and managed hardware design and production. Wrote three granted patents on the technology. Applied and refined the successful script-based implementation strategy to multi-platform game development. Did most of the development of the Virtual Music engine during the first year. Specified and implemented multi platform design environment. Specified and managed implementation of database-driven automated resource management system for multimedia products. Hired all engineering staff throughout the life of the company. Coordinated difficult cross-cultural development effort with Japanese staff at Sony. Set up and staffed both QA and customer support teams. Participated actively in fundraising efforts, and brought several important investors to the company.

Helped bring the company to a sales volume of $8M per year, when it was acquired for $20M. Shared responsibility of managing the engineering staff with one other person, until engineering manager was hired in late 1985.
