特許 係属中 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light emission characteristics of a light emitting material for a scintillator, the material comprising an oxide garnet single crystal containing Pr. ; SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an oxide garnet single crystal for a scintillator is disclosed, the crystal expressed by a general formula of (Pr<SB>x</SB>RE<SB>1-x</SB>)<SB>3</SB>(Al<SB>1-y</SB>Ga<SB>y</SB>)<SB>5</SB>O<SB>12</SB>, in which the grown oxide garnet single crystal for a scintillator is heat treated in a N<SB>2</SB>or Ar gas atmosphere containing O<SB>2</SB>.
