特許 権利維持 Polarization (also polarisation) is a property of waves that can oscillate with more than one orientation. That refers to all so-called transverse waves, notably including all electromagnetic waves (such as light), but also gravitational waves, and transverse sound waves in solids. On the other hand, sound waves in a gas or liquid are exclusively longitudinal waves in which the oscillation is always in the direction the wave travels; these waves all have the same polarization (in the direction of travel) so it need never be specified.
