Is my patent valid in every country?
I have patented my invention in Japan. Is it protected in other countries?
Hi, your patent in Japan may serve as priority for other applications, for instance through the Patent Cooperation Treaty filing process. I would be happy to assist you further.
Hello: Patents are national rights. A Japanese Patent protects your invention in Japan, and that is it. There are regional Patents that cover several countries like the Euroasian Patent and the GCC Patent, and the European Patent. Regards, Rafael Beltran
No - your Japanese patent only provides protection in Japan. And if it is already patented, then it is probably too late to file for protection in other countries. Here in the US, if you file a patent application, you need to file in foreign countries - usually through PCT - within one year from your US filing date.
