Legal risks in remote teams

Question

Our development team is spread across the globe, with a small group of full-time developers based in Australia, the UK and the US. We also have a couple of freelancers working on part of the development. We have standard terms in place with our full-time team members and our main office is in Australia. I would like to know, what kind of legal issues do you usually come across in your practice with regard to remote teams like ours? For scaling, is there a specific strategy that you would recommend, for example incorporation in a different jurisdiction? We have managed to finance and expand the startup on our own funds and organic growth so far, but are looking into launching a larger investment round. What sort of issues should we keep in mind? Thanks in advance, Jack
