Does the German Small Investors Protection law really make it unfeasible to launch Crowdfunding campaigns?

Question

I work for an early-stage startup company in Berlin. We were looking at running a crowdfunding campaign instead of Angel investment, but it seems like the new law ("Kleinanlegerschutzgesetz", is it?) makes larger fundings difficult. Is this really true? My German is rather limited, and I don't understand what the law is exactly regulating. I would be interested in some details about the law and what your advice would be for crowdfunding in Germany. Is there maybe someone who could help us structure the financing in an optimal way?
