Question
Hello!. Does anybody filed a national phase PCT patent application in Panama?. If so how has been your experience with the PTO and deadlines?

Hi Eliana! Was anyone able to answer your question sufficiently? We note that Panama joined the PCT relatively recently, on September 7, 2012. According to the WIPO ("OMPI") website, the deadline for a national phase filing in Panama under either Article 22 or Article 39(1) is 30 months. We aren't sure how strict Panama's patent office is about enforcing the 30 month deadline -- but undoubtedly one of our friends in Panama has some insight on this.
