Question
We are an IT startup with a fast growing user base and some additional product features in the pipeline that have shown great potential in beta tests. We now want to launch a series A round and want to make sure we cover our bases also in terms of legal risks and IP protection. What's a good strategy here? Should we consult with a lawyer first? How much protection can we realize ourselves (saving on outside advisor fees)?
