How do we profit from an incubator and what are the legal risks?

Question

We potentially have the opportunity of joining an incubator program in the US, but I would like to know more about how that really works legally and what the risks are. Do we lose money or intellectual property if we work under another organization's roof?

Ask them, then read the contract (or yes, pay someone to read the contract for you, as in lawyer). It's all going to depend on the Incubator's deal.

As a co-founder of two startups (not the patent guy), I will tell you that having others to ask these questions to (nothing against the internet) IN PERSON, is a great thing.

Good luck.
