Patent Granted PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To scan a growing end in a desired direction when forming a self-formation optical waveguide. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method comprises steps of: dipping one end 10ae of an optical fiber 10a and one end 10be of a similar optical fiber 10b into a photosetting resin liquid 11; introducing a laser beam having a wavelength of 488 nm from an argon laser into the other end of the optical fiber 10a to irradiate the photosetting resin liquid 11 from the first end 10ae and forming a cured product by a self-forming process.
