This is one the the most common abdominal surgeries in early childhood, occurring at the rate of 95 per 100,000 (ages 1-3) . Surgical intervention is often required when the intussusception remains untreated for 24 hours . The device also has computerized subsystems that permit users to receive alarms (in case of abnormalities) and a unique rapid pulsing feature that can be used if needed.
