This technology protects this equipment from seismic events, drastically lowering potential seismic-caused losses.

Patent Pending Specific seismic hazards exist on different places, and according to this and other criteria, the equipment is designed and built. Porcelain is used to provide electric insulation for some of this equipment, which renders them fragile and unfit to withstand the intense and uncertain loads that earthquakes impose. The seismic isolator-dissipator is a device that uses springs and dampeners that are designed and tuned to reduce the movement of the equipment whose bases are subjected to seismic movements. An isolator-dissipator with a height of 30 centimeters, and an approximate weight of 100 kilograms can support equipment that is approximately 5 meters tall, with a weight of up to a ton. This device may also be used with slender structures, such as water towers, billboards, and others.
