Is there access to legal advice in Japan that is affordable by startups?

Question

Hi!

We are a team of IT professionals who have teamed up in Tokyo to create one of the most innovative mobile interface frameworks yet. Since we are a young company, I would like to ask about startup-friendly legal advice. I have read that in the US, some law firms offer alternative financing models, such as payment by equity. Is there such an option here in Japan? Or should we go to a gyoseishoshi or shihoshoshi? We are an international team, so it would be important to partner up with an english-speaking lawyer who knows about the needs of a startup company.

Thank you for your help or referrals
