We are looking for a companies that would be willing to help market a product nationally at first for a share in the profits, how does one find out who those companies are and if they are reputable?

Seriously? If you're asking this question you probably haven't done a lot of research yet. Examine who are your main product consumers and find out how they would buy this product. If there are already established vendors, then offer them a commission or "revenue share" in return for the sale. If they sell, they get paid, if they don't fire them and find someone who can sell to your target audience. But mostly, get off your butt, and do some basic market research work on Google.
