Question
Hi! We would like to incorporate Youtube videos into our company blog. Can we do this even if the videos are not from us?

YouTube allows bloggers to easily embed videos, hosted by YouTube, onto their blogs. YouTube itself is, famously/infamously, generally protected by copyright infringement claims due to content uploaded by users by virtue of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act's safe harbor provisions. (17 U.S.C. s 512). Your company's website should have a robust Terms of Use that should also contain references to the DMCA and a takedown protocol (if only for practical purposes), however a larger consideration will be ensuring your embedded content does not create any confusion as to source-of-sponsorship or other trademark-related rights. Further, the Federal Trade Commission promulgates rules specifically concerning paid-blogger content, perhaps further complicating your blogging process. Specific, usable advice is very fact-dependent and will require an evaluation of exactly what you are proposing to post on the blog.
In short, you should speak with a local IP/IT attorney to navigate through these legal minefields.
