Patent Pending The cephalosporins (sg. /ˌsɛfəlɵˈspɔrɨn/) are a class of β-lactam antibiotics originally derived from the fungus Acremonium, which was previously known as "Cephalosporium".[1] Together with cephamycins, they constitute a subgroup of β-lactam antibiotics called cephems.
