Medical diagnosis

Patent Granted Medical diagnosis (often abbreviated dx or Dx) is diagnosis in the field of medicine, that is, the determination of which disease or condition is causing a person's signs and symptoms. It is called simply diagnosis when the medical context is implicit. Both the process of determining which disease or condition is present and the conclusion that is reached by this process are called "diagnosis" (for example, the process of diagnosis can yield a diagnosis of strep throat).
