Patent Pending In 2009, Zyvex Technologies introduced carbon nanotube-reinforced epoxy and carbon prepregs.[20] Carbon nanotube reinforced polymer (CNRP) is several times stronger and tougher than CFRP and was used in the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II as a structural material for aircraft.[21] CNRP still uses carbon fiber as the primary reinforcement, but the binding matrix is a carbon nano-tube filled epoxy.
