Blood platelets

Patent Granted Platelets, also called "thrombocytes", are a component of blood whose function (along with the coagulation factors) is to stop bleeding by clumping and clogging blood vessel injuries. [1] Platelets have no cell nucleus: they are fragments of cytoplasm which are derived from the megakaryocytes[2] of the bone marrow, and then enter the circulation.
