The printer itself uses a thermal technique to increase image detail in colors used in films while maintaining the sharpness expected in black and white prints. As it can be used with multiple machines Sony hopes that it will have a wide range of use in the health industry. This is a color printer which includes a dicom (Digital Imaging Communications in Medicince) interface. In the past we could only connect this printer with one piece of modality equipment. Now it is compatible with multiple types of modality equipment.
