Technology DIT is seeking companies to license a novel technique that quantifies the behaviour of filamentous microbes for the optimization of industrial fermentation processes. Using a set of digital images this method provides a quantitative relation between biomass and metabolite production that can optimise manufacturing processes such as Penicillium for the pharmaceutical industries, for example.
